Aging well a long time

The objective of the group, under the supervision of Pierre Caro, is to work on a not much approached French, European and worldwide situation: consequences of a long ageing is the third of possible life for the biggest number today (30/90 years).

Works, interventions, advice of the scholars and experts do not miss on ageing, preparation in retirement but problem is this «long time» of ageing.

We do not have history in reference, we must construct it for the next generations which will have, them, to extend it for the following generations, to evolve in constant changes.

The pensioners, elder, old (all countries did not institute the right to retirement) must be able to keep, develop their medium (tools) and capacities (aptitude) throughout their life.

The consideration of ” professional pensioner ” is orientated in this sense: a professional cannot cease learning since he must bring some change in his knowledges and in his experiments.

« The education by training » for this new stage of retirement and long ageing does not seem completely included into this last third of life  !

Where from the idea of a «3rd stage of trainings to the end of life» or «school of the 3rd chance retirement and long ageing»

  • The first stage is the one who allows to acquire the bases of personal and professional life, of primary school in higher education, to prepare professional career and for living her life.
  • The second is that of life at job where to learn allows personal and professional evolution throughout career.
  • The third is this last new stage of retirement and of long ageing where we are subjected neither to the obligation to produce, nor in a hierarchy, without fear of a dismissal, by being assured of our pension, to make quick.

A particularly favourable situation to learn, to understand, and to undertake a personal and professional plan in a worldwide society where we are always more numerous and older.

This 3rd stage of learning must now be built to create learning and trainings environments adapted.

Pierre Caro asserted his rights to retirement in 1997, after 40 years of career in different sectors and professional responsibilities, ceaselessly.

He began his retirement by three years of training. Incidentally, while having acquired very young what led a part of its life behaviour: learn to understand and to undertake to develop his knowledges and experiments personal and professional .

To know why and how to make the best usage of 40 years when he could hope before being old, perhaps, he undertook 3 years of studies to the university for two university degrees: Education in health and Rights, ethics and society..

Having had to treat a university memo intituled: «the possible role and the place of the pensioner in the society», he had a passion for this job and decided to develop him by becoming “pensionner professional” researcher self-educated person-artisan, with a speciality: retirement and long ageing.

The appellation «pensionner professional» distinguishes itself from professional retired (or active retiree) by a new learning, a new professional situation, a new plan in this new stage, new possible job with no obligation of imposed production, in a voluntary and constructed choice in a plan, just as for an ended (obliged) job.

After 20 working years, this plan, to begin 20 next one, became: «the development of retirement plan and of long ageing in a worldwide society where we are always more numerous and older».
